Understanding The Quality Of Drinking Mineral Water

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

If you are looking for something to boost your intentions regarding eating and living healthier, then start with drinking some mineral water every day.

Mineral water is full of minerals, and our bodies need them. What a great way to get both water and nutrients at the same time. Sadly, normal tap as well as filtered water are both low on mineral content.

Bottling companies have access to springs that are high in mineral content. This is where your water comes from. The good news is that it is safe, and the FDA monitors and oversees conditions in the process that ensure the water is safe to drink.

Mineral water needs to be tested and analyzed before it can have that same title. Examiners will be looking for traces of things like calcium and iron, among other minerals. If they meet a certain standard, then it can be classified as official mineral water.

While mineral water is a better for you than regular tap water, that doesn’t mean that you can skip drinking water. In fact you need the same amount of water no matter what. Minerals will help your body in other areas along the way, but the most important thing to remember is to get plenty of fluids into your body every day.

Believe it or not, there are companies which will add stuff to the water after it has been harvested in order to make it even healthier than before. Also, there are those which will add flavors to it as well. This is not a bad thing, and the water is still the same.

Additionally, the company that blends the water can add nutrients and flavors which will make it even better for you while enhancing taste. But, as ingredients are added to make it even healthier, there are those who argue that it is not water then.

Since minerals and water are both things we need, then why not combine them and have it all in one nice glass of refreshing mineral water.

Making Solar Power More Affordable And Usable Is One Way To Go Green

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

As global warming becomes more and more apparent, the cost of living is still at an increase. With global warming becoming an ever growing problem, many houses are beginning to go green.

With the temperatures of each season changing and becoming more extreme, more energy is needed to keep up with the change in climate conditions. However, going green has some less costly solutions to these problems.

Due to the need to use more resources, the cost of energy and fuel has gone up. It is crucial for us to start taking steps towards a more green way of life to lower these costs. One way to start is to consider solar power. If solar power was made more available, many more people would consider using it.

If there were more people working on solar energy to find ways to make it more affordable, we would find a solution for the problem.

There are many construction companies that will use the benefits of solar power on their work sites. They will lay out panels and rely on the energy from that to use on site instead of using precious time to lay down lines to use throughout the day.

Many construction teams will discard of the solar panels when they are done using them on the work site. If you give them a call, they may be will to sell them to you for a reasonable price.

You would be surprised how many construction companies would be willing to sell or even give away the used solar panels that they aren’t using anymore.

Sometimes, construction companies will have solar panels they cannot use because they are damaged in some way. However, some of the panels with minor damage like chips or cracks can still be use at home and the companies may be willing to give them to you. Just be sure they work before you set them up.

An Article That Talks About Several Types Of Wicker

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Wicker refers to a way of twinning natural materials like willow, rattan, cane, bamboo and so forth into intricate patterns. Wicker as a type of furniture is made from weaving intertwined thin branches around a frame and molding it into a desirable shape to form tables, chairs, beds or sofas.

Most of this furniture is made by hand and they mostly come from Southeast Asia, places like Indonesia, Philippines and China. Wicker became popular in the early centuries of Victorian era, because of its smooth, clean finish which was perceived as more hygienic than the upholstered type of furniture.

Wicker furniture is mainly classified by two areas; the loom woven and the manmade fiber type. The loom woven one is from natural material like rattan, cane or bamboo.

The material is made by dipping it in resin emulsions to make a kind of moisture resistant shield. Synthetic wicker furniture is from hand-woven polyethylene, fiber glass or resin, a material that is identical to wicker. It can be cleaned with water, is waterproof, colorfast, and ultraviolet as well as frost resistant.

The synthetic furniture makes use of aluminum frames to make it durable and strong. It has UV inhibitors to repel the effects of the sun, weather and temperature changes.

Some wicker types use coating to make them fade resistant and reduce flaking and chipping.

Wicker is available in first colors, stained or painted surfaces. It is comfortable, durable and versatile and manageable. This is because it matches most upholstery ones. It is liked for outdoor use on the decks and patios because it is easy to clean with water plus it is very light.

Wicker is durable which means it can last many years if looked after properly. It is easy to maintain but it is good to vacuum and dust it regularly plus occasionally polishing it with furniture polish. To restore its finish, a layer of lacquer should be used.

Decrease Your Energy Costs By Utilizing Renewable Energy Resources

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

I don’t suppose anybody is happy with the utility bills always rising. Year by year the gas and electricity bills just seem to keep on rising. This is mainly due to the cost of the fossil fuels.

Statisticians have predicted that if these rises continue for the next ten years or so then the natural gas costs and electricity costs will be far higher than the minimum wage in lots of countries. But there are a few things that we could do to prevent these costs from soaring and lower our overall costs.

To start off with we could start using a renewable energy source to heat our homes. This would in effect start to lower the energy costs which in turn would lower the bills and make our incomes last a little longer.

The increase in global warming has been brought about by the increased worldwide demand for electricity. So by using a renewable energy source we will be using an environmentally friendly source of energy. Thermal installations are by far the most popular of these energy sources.

So for the sake of the environment and more importantly for the sake of your budget it is recommended that renewable energy be used in the home. One such source would be to heat your home and water by using solar energy.

You could generate the solar energy and convert it into electricity by using photovoltaic cells. You could also use the wind power for generating electricity for your home by using wind turbines.

If more and more people start to use these different types of renewable energy sources then the general cost of electricity should in effect start to go down in price. So we will be able to lower our bills and also protect the environment at the same time.

So by being responsible and utilizing renewable energy sources the world should be a much more environmentally friendly place for you and your children.

Real Estate Contact Management- What Agents Don’t want to Hear from Tech Support

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Over the years I’ve tought real estate agents how to utilize technology to their advantage as far back as when DOS was around. Seriously, this was the time when mobile phones were called “car phones.” Probably one of my most memorable achievements was working for the company that introduced laptops to the world of real estate. In the good old days they were heavier and weighed about 10lbs. Heck the hard drive was even smaller than what an iPod Nano uses today. My point is; many things have changed over the years and real estate contact management is one of them.

However, it’s the tech support that seems to have withstood the tests of time and the individuals there aren’t any better. Did you know that everytime you have a problem with your Real Estate CRM program the technical support people usually have no idea how to resolve your issues? I have two slides in my PowerPoint presentation that talks about all the irritating things technical support people say and ask. The titles are: “Do you have a brick or a sledgehammer handy?” and “Please hold for Mr. Gate’s attorney.” I have several others, but we’ll save those for the live seminars in your area.

The problem with tech support when dealing with Real Estate CRM is that most of the people there don’t even use the software. They are almost like a smoke screen instead of any concrete help. My guess is none of them as ever sold real estate either. So basically if you have a question about Real Estate Contact Management software, the help you retain from the conversation is going to be minimal. Their main goal is to help you with those “error” messages. It’s just one of the many issues that consumers complain about regarding technical support for programs like Top Producer and AgentOffice. Can you imagine trying to do a mail merge in your word processoor for your contacts and everytime you click the print button one letter pops up and the printer stops? Once you are irritated beyond belief you finally call tech support for the answer. The only problem is you have to hold for long periods of time (which has steam coming out your ears) and when you finally talk with you they have a series of questions. Unfortunately they only make matters worse by asking if other programs similar to the one you have find issues as well. Uh, hello? Why would we have more than one? Probably the funniest part is going through all the same stuff you tried already and wasting another hour to 2 hours time. So what is their final answer; “Well, there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with your software.” Thank freaking goodness, now can you fix the bleeping problem already! One time I had a person tell me technical support said; “Maybe you shouldn’t try to use it to do mail merges.” Really?

The main problem all along is that there was an “educational” issue instead of a “technical” one. When you were printing out your Real Estate Contact Management list you tried preparing a form letter from a different part of the program. Then again it might have been one minuscule step that didn’t take place. You know, like telling the software to print “to the contact” not “to the group.” The worst part is most of the tech support on staff has no idea this is an issue when preparing a mail merge. However, they are well versed to make you feel like an idiot when using your Real Estate CRM software.

Then of course you can’t forget about the cost attached to inferior technical support. Top Producer says their tech support is free, but you actually pay $39 a month for the program. AgentOffice gives you a month free when you purchase their software, but if something goes wrong you have to pay $295 for a year long support contract. Heck, this is the same price as purchasing the program!

My point here is, if you just take the time to get trained on the program you purchase, life with Real Estate Contact Management software will be much easier. Just think of it as a good health strategy. After all, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you take this route you won’t have a tech support person say; “We can fix this, but you’re going to need a knife, a roll of duct tape and a car battery.

Guitar Lessons DVD: Take Lessons As Many Time As You Want

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Find out what inspires you and soak yourself in that. For me, going to concerts to see great players or bands inspires me to practice more. Listening to great singers inspired me to refine my vibrato and phrasing. Listening and studying the music of great classical composers inspired me to study music composition.

I prefer to be wise like the Buddha, and take the Middle Path. This is the one I have chosen, and I will describe it for you.

These are questions you should ask yourself. The two biggest practicing mistakes I have seen in students (besides not practicing enough) are: 1. Practicing is not goal orientated. 2. Not understanding the difference between playing one’s guitar and practicing one’s guitar. If you are having any difficulties with practicing, talk to your teacher about it. He/she should be able to help you.

Discipline yourself. Unlike a sport, you do not have a coach or a trainer to work with you all the time. Nobody is there to make sure you are practicing the way you need to, when you need to, and how often you need to.

They started to feel like that song by Al Yankovich, “Everything You Know Is Wrong”. They realize that even though they may have been playing for 25 years, there are certain really fundamental things they have never known, and if they did know them from the beginning, everything would have gone differently for them in their growth as guitarists.

Absolutely spend a good amount of time in practicing reversing that habit. Practice in a new way, where you make sure you do what you weren’t doing before. Analyze the essence of that bad habit, extract it from it’s musical context, and perhaps make up “auxillary exercises” based on the essence of it. Use all the practice techniques that I teach to effectively begin this process of reversal.

There are many other things you could do, with just a small amount of time – use your imagination. Of course, keeping your guitar at the ready is essential. If you only have a few minutes, you don’t want to have to get it out of a case and tune it.

Now I know I have to work on something very fundamental. I have to work on the behavior of my third finger, and change the way it reacts to it’s neighbor being used, the second finger. If I can get down to the matter with that degree of specificity, that degree of clarity and focus, I am in a position to cause major Vertical Growth. If I can change the way that finger is behaving in that situation, I will see many playing problems I am having in other pieces of music begin to “melt”, and eventually disappear.

Online Bass Guitar Lessons: Reinforce The Concepts Many Times As You Need To

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

I recommend getting a bass guitar though, because the strings are fatter, harder to press than those of an acoustic guitar, and the frets are wider apart. You can learn on your own, but looking up tabs, listening to songs and individually listening to the bass lines and trying to figure it out.

Getting a guitar strap can help your hands focus on playing instead of carrying the instrument. It is advisable to keep your fingernails trimmed so that they do not interfere with the sound. Blisters signify the first signs of learning. They hurt a lot, but eventually you will get used to them and eventually calluses will develop to protect you from the sting.

If your strings ever break mysteriously at the bridge, check your saddles. If there are any string “bite” marks, snags or burrs on the saddles, it means that they are wearing down your strings and the constant vibration of the strings makes the burrs act like little saws on the windings of the string. Eventually the core gives in – and POW, there goes a string – and possibly an eyeball.

Make sure you learn all the most common scales. The scales you should learn are the major scale, minor scale, melodic minor, harmonic minor, pentatonic, blues, and minor blues. These are all really common and should prepare you for just about any situation. I have also a few tips for gigs:

The lst note of the exercise will be the first notes of the sixteenth note exercise. Another important thing to develop in bass playing is the strength of both hand’s fingers. The bass guitar is a sturdy and solid musical instrument, strength is needed to play it.

NEVER SING if you feel uncomfortable about it. NEVER HARMONIZE if you’re not sure what notes to hit with the lead singer. Avoid “falsetto vocals” if at all possible. Falsetto only belongs when you are driving in the car, ALONE, and with your favorite CD playing

Never play in a club where there’s a “house soundman.” Guaranteed – they will get paid more than the band, in most cases, and the probably have a standard sound for all the basses, without knowing your playing style. He probably eq your bass with an insane volume range.

Feel the beat, playing the bass guitar differs primarily from playing a regular guitar because it entails an emphasis on the beat of the music. One can compare the bass guitar into a drum or percussion set that is made into a guitar. Beats are very important in playing bass guitar because this type of guitar gives depth and timing to any song.

What Can Change Texas Energy Increases?

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

With energy rates across the nation being affected by so many factors, Texas is no exception.Given the flat terrain and abundance of petroleum based energy sources, Texas has to utilize different sources for its energy.

With summer temperatures frequently reaching triple digits Texans are frequently driven to use air conditioning which requires a lot of energy to run.

When energy demands are high the Texas energy grid relies on natural gas powered generators to make up the difference, and that can be costly if natural gas rates are already high. When the use of air conditioners adds a higher than normal demand to the grid, the backup generators used to make up the difference are powered by natural gas.

As one expects, the energy rates can be dramatically influenced by the natural gas used to produce the extra power. As with so many other industries, the added costs are simply passed on to the end consumer.

Texas spans more land than any of the contiguous 48 states, but also has one of the highest populations, which are evenly distributed across the land, making for interesting mitigation of any problems that arise. With so many more miles of cable, wire and other necessities, the grid in Texas is strained physically too.

With the rare problems previously discussed, the solutions are few and becoming fewer. It seems obvious in such a large state with so much sunshine that the Texas electricity grid should emphasize solar power development as it is refined and developed more.

As you can imagine, Texas political leaders, business leaders and citizens face a large amount of difficulty in their ability to receive power on a day to day basis, and it is only getting harder. With the pace of technology that will hopefully soon pass away!

Guitar Instruction DVD: Repeat Your Lessons Many Times As You Need To

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Through this article you are provided an overview of the opportunities that are available to you when it comes t learning the guitar online, including learning finger picking. The fact is that finger picking is one of the more basic techniques that a person interested in guitar can learn. Therefore, lessons online are rather easily accessible.

When you are choosing your repertoire, you can spread your net wide. No need to stick to the Top Forty, go for the Top One Hundred of whatever decade you feel comfortable with. An easy way out that does not need too much research is to just jot down a bunch of Beatles titles.

There are also songs that maybe should not be played. “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton, “Freebird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, “Smoke On The Water” by Deep Purple and “Yellow Submarine” by The Beatles are contenders for this list but that probably only applies if your audience is sober.

In this regard, these interactive sites can be well suited to novices and more experienced players alike. Once again, as with other types of sites online, you can learn techniques like the funk-skunk on interactive sites that are running online today. Finally, there are online guitar playing communities through which people like you can learn a vast array of guitar techniques including such things as funk-skunk.

Yet. If you are one of the lucky few (like me), who can just pick up a guitar and start to jam, I guarantee you will still have bad habits that will actually restrict you from becoming better than you actually are. Remember that there are pros in the world who are only pros because of the hours, days and months spent refining and perfecting their technique. To give you one example, I play for 2 hours a day where I can, and I know that I am still far from perfect.

In the brick and mortar world, you might want to turn to one on one lessons if you really are intent at improving your ability to play guitar. While these types of guitar lessons can cost you more than other types of guitar lesson options, for many people one on one lessons are ideal ways to learn guitar initially and then to master the instrument to a greater degree on down the road.

There are guitar players who swear by either of these ways of playing and some who use both. Generally speaking the advantage of having a stiff wrist is speed. A relaxed wrist does not take as readily to playing fast but many guitarists feel that it gives then greater control.

To get some insight into the evolution of flatpicking guitar playing, it might help to look at how Doc Watson, whose guitar playing career began in the nineteen fifties, contributed to the use of flatpicking guitar in bluegrass music. It was simply that the band he was working with did not have a fiddle player and Doc was not able to become a good fiddle player himself. So because he enjoyed fiddle tunes, he simply learned how to play them on the guitar.

When it comes to learn how to play guitar, getting the right information can be a daunting task. That’s why we put together this confidential report for you at guitar instruction dvd

Online Bass Guitar Lessons: Don’t Slow Down Your Progress With Private Lessons

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Whatever your reasons, you want to learn how to play bass. You don’t have to go to music school to do this. You can take online bass guitar lessons. You don’t even need a bass guitar to start out with. Any acoustic guitar will do, since the top four strings of any guitar are the four strings of a bass guitar. What you learn on an acoustic guitar you can then transfer to bass.

You may wish to concentrate on bass scales or perhaps you just want to help the drums anchor the sound. It may sound like a tough choice if you are unaware of what style you want to learn but it may help you in the long run. If you want to become an excellent bass guitarist then you should always strive to learn new and interesting skills on your instrument.

It can be played by plucking, slapping, tapping, popping, or by picking the strings with a pick. The bass guitar looks somewhat similar to an electric guitar, but with a larger, heavier body, a longer scale length, and a longer neck. The bass guitar usually has four strings, tuned one octave lower in pitch than the four lower strings of a guitar.

Advanced players must have some command of scale, chord and arpeggio patterns, to be advanced, yet often they get real fast and efficient with enough patterns to impress others and get by, but they realize how extremely limited they still are, and how they are not really as advanced as they would like to be because of their insufficient scope and grasp of a complete mastery of the fretboard with the current patterns that they already know, as well as the theoretical aspect behind the patterns and their use.

The goal is to be able to play all the exercises at 100 beats per minute. When you are able to do that, it will be fairly easy to further increase the tempo. Here is a suggestion for advanced practice: Try to play all the way through all three exercises without stopping in between. When you do this, the last note of the eighth note exercise will become the first note of the triplet exercise.

Unfortunately, it turns out to be harder than it looks. Here’s why: The muscles that move your hands and fingers across the neck and strings are rarely used for other tasks. The fine motor skills needed to play a stringed instrument require that the small muscles of the hands be strengthened. So when you take up the bass, you’re like a baby learning to walk: Not only do you have no idea of what you’re doing, you don’t even have the muscles to do it.

Imagine a scarecrow in a corn field – that is how your arm should be bent. With your arm bent in this position it will allow your hand to be in the perfect position to allow your wrist to move freely to strike the strings.

So, now that you have the basic steps on hand position for playing your bass guitar. Now, what you’ve got to do is learn some other basic stuff, like scales, techniques and song. Be sure that you actually WANT to learn and don’t let the frustration discourage you!

Everything they never told you about bass guitar instruction revealed! For more insider tips and information be sure and check out bass video lessons
